FORBIDDEN CITY AND THE IMPERIAL CITY COMPLEX

Imperial City complex, including the imperial parks, the Beihai, Zhonghai, and Nanhai

lakes. All within the Inner (Northern) City of Beijing. Tianmen- the Gate of Heavenly

Peace is located at the south of the imperial city.

FOREIGN LEGATIONS

The Foreign Legation Quarters. The site of the Boxer Rebellion and the siege of Beijing. Note

That the Foreign Legation Quarters is located right beside the Tianmen and the entrance to

the Forbidden City. Tianmen located at the north western corner of the Legations.

TEMPLE OF HEAVEN

Map of Beijing (somewhere between 17th and 19th century) showing the procession path from

The length of the procession is about 4 km.
