Did they really have flags like that in the Han Dynasty? Seems a bit modern to me. Please do an article about Chinese vexillology and flag conventions in ancient China. Please and thanks!

Yeah I myself am pretty effy about the flag. I've seen some version of them presented on RedCliff, but this kind was mostly displayed on Three Kingdoms Total War. Again- Effy. Three Kingdoms records mentions banners, and even back banners in off hand references to soldiers etc. But are not too specific as to the intricacy of the designs.

Prince Jing of Zhongshan died around 110s BC, which is around the midpoint of the Western Han Dynasty and around the time of the martial emperor Han Wudi. Thus, I wonder if heavy armor became much more common and imperial guard armor became even heavier by the time of the final wars of Han Wudi and/or after the reign of Han Wudi? I've seen murals of Eastern Han tombs that portray lamellar armor covering people from foot to toe, including long lamellar sleeves that stretch from the arms down to the hands.
