Han Gentleman 汉君子
Costume Made by: 装束复原
A Western Han dynasty gentleman in Shenyi 深衣: which were informal robes Chinese men wore in antiquity. This form is known as the zhiju 直裾 and had the robe largely wrapped around the man's body while being secured by the tight belt- from which his long sword is fastened to.
During the Han dynasty the styles of the sword changed according to the adaptation of steel forged weapons. In contrast to the pointed, triangular bronze forged swords of the preceding centuries, the iron and steel swords of the Han were longer, narrower, and predominantly made for slashing. Despite this, many blades still retained double edges for stabbing as well as cutting.

I would say the empowerment of a merit based staff for the state's bureaucracy- one this is not tied to hereditary land holding was one of the things the ancient Chinese got right.
I've been closely following it for a while and it's really great!
I am actually, you can also watch them free on Facebook, just search it, or search it with its Chinese title and you'll find it.

I've heard the 1st 5 episodes are very exposition heavy but so far what I have seen is very intriguing.
